Manny Crooks
Hi and welcome to Wellbeing with Manny!
My name is Manny Crooks and I have been working in the performance industry for 20 years both as a professional performer and freelance vocal coach. I have always been passionate about people’s wellbeing and encouraging those around me to feel happier (whatever that looks like to them).
In the last few years during my own performance work, my freelance vocal coaching and singing tuition within music theatre training degrees, it has felt as if more and more people were struggling with their own wellbeing. There seemed to be a lack of support, specific to our industry. There are some incredible provisions out there, but it got me thinking……is there more that I could do? As I said, I work hard at lifting those around me. I like looking with fresh eyes, reframing and seeing if there is something positive or helpful, I can bring to the table. So I did it, I retrained and qualified as a Wellbeing coach and Mental Health First Aider!
I specifically want to tailor my help to the arts, in particularly the performance industry. It is my world and I understand it. I know how deeply personal it all feels. The lows can make you feel that you are not enough. The anxiety and uncertainty of this wonderful industry can take its toll.
What is a wellbeing coach?
The role of a Wellbeing coach is to support, cheerlead and ultimately ask questions to unlock our happiness or wellbeing. As a wellbeing coach I hope I can help clear the fog when experiencing feelings that are overwhelming or encourage more freedom to release what you hold on to. I want you to feel seen and not alone. As a wellbeing coach I hope to reassure with no judgement, no agenda – just support.
Did you know that just 5 minutes a day can make a huge difference to our wellbeing?
We are all deserving of happiness, yes, it’s 100% true. Life can be busy and we forget ourselves and our right to have dedicated time that’s just for us. Time, such a precious thing! Did you know that just 5 minutes a day can make a huge difference to our wellbeing?
What happens to us when we stay at the bottom of the priority list? How can we work hard for opportunities and fully embrace those opportunities if we are not giving ourselves the care we deserve? You ARE deserving, but maybe you just need some time to reflect, refocus and to think about what happiness means and looks like to you.
When did you last think about your own wellbeing and what small steps you could take to improve that?
You are the boss and you can be your biggest cheerleader. It is possible to alter your mindset. It might just need a few tweaks. Small, positive changes can make a big difference.
I’ll be there and I will walk alongside you, I am committed to help and support you.
Are you ready to live happy?
How can I help...
Here at Wellbeing with Manny I want to create a community and a space that is yours.
I want to support YOU. I want to reassure YOU. I want to encourage YOU to ask yourself......
What does happiness look like to you?
When did we last celebrate ourselves? Can we find those daily wins and weekly wins?
What small changes can we implement that will make a big difference?
By committing to small changes, reflecting and reframing we can feed our mindset with the nourishment it deserves.Wellbeing with Manny

What we listen to and hear throughout the day can shape how we feel. If we feed and nourish our soul with wholesome conversations from everyday people, filled with positivity and stories that people can relate to, you may feel less alone and even inspired. We are all working through our own stuff and sometimes you need to hear conversations that have failures, successes and everyday struggles.
Wellbeing with Manny…….. in conversation with, is listening to others talk about how they have journeyed through life so far including some top tips for you to take away!

A Little thought…..
Does being a Wellbeing Coach mean I have it all worked out and ‘Live Happy’ all day every day?
The short answer to that is no, of course not!
I am a busy working mum of 2 little girls with some long commutes, late nights, juggling all sorts of things life throws at us!!
As I reflect upon how I have handled particularly difficult times, struggles and stressful moments in my life, the truth is, I have probably not been that successful at handling them at all. Happy to admit that out loud! What did I do? I said enough is enough I want to learn, grow and be better. I am a big fan of the words failure and success. I think they live in the same space. You can rarely have one without the other.
My failures have ultimately led me to a much more successful path. I fail, I learn, I grow, I succeed.
